OAV to start on 10 April at PCG Dubai
The Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) for the 2010 National Elections at the Philippine Consulate General will start on 10 April 2010 from 8:30-4:30 PM, and end on 10 May 2010 (8:30 AM- 2 PM). Elections will be held daily and the Consulate General will be open even on public holidays. All Filipinos in Dubai and the Northern Emirates who registered in 2009 and/or whose names appear on the Certified List of Absentee Voters (CLOAV) for Dubai are eligible to vote. The CLOAV can be accessed at the COMELEC website, www.comelec.gov.ph/oavlist/toc_lists.html. The CLOAV will also be posted at the polling centers during the election period. Filipinos who were unable to register in 2009 but whose names are included in the CLOAV are still eligible to vote. Voting precincts are arranged alphabetically according to the first letter of the voters' surnames. All voters should bring proper identification documents for them to cast their ballots. -28 March 2010

Former President Corazon C. Aquino Passes Away
The Philippine Consulate General wishes to inform, with deep sorrow, that former Pres. Corazon C. Aquino passed away on 01 August 2009. She died of colon cancer at the age of 76. The Philippine flag at PCG Dubai will be flown at half mast until 10 August 2009. Books of Condolences for former Pres. Corazon C. Aquino will be open to OFWs and the diplomatic corps from 03-10 August 2009. The books will then be transmitted to the family of the late President Aquino. -01 August 2009

PCG Dubai extends OAV services on 14, 21 and 28 August 2009
The Philippine Consulate General would like to inform all OFWs in Dubai and the Northern Emirates that the Philippine Consulate General will be open on 14, 21 and 28 August 2009 for the Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) Registration. The special sessions will start from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to allow OFWs and their families who could not leave their work on regular working days to register on these Fridays. To register, applicants need to apply personally and present a copy of their passports. Only OAV services will be offered on these days. In view of the holy month of Ramadan, PCG Dubai will be open from 9AM -3 PM with break at 12 nn - 1 PM on regular weekdays. -23 August 2009
